Is it okay to stretch sore muscles?
If you feel discomfort in the days after exercise this is normal, but you will require a bit of rest in order to recover fully. Putting the body under more strain by stretching will only make matters worse.
To avoid sore muscles, it makes a lot more sense to stretch immediately after exercise rather than days later when in pain.
Stretching muscles when they are sore may give immediate relief to the pain but will hamper your muscle repair and growth long term.
